Idli was never my favorite food during my childhood days. I am always fond of the dosas and chutneys.My mom makes dosa for me whenever she makes idli at home . God I was such a picky eater those days.Now I smile and think how I changed now and started having all after marraige.My grandmom makes these rava idli , They are different from whole rice idli. Idli rava is coarsely ground rice and it is completely different from sooji rava(Broken wheat particles) . They are available in indian stores. This type of idli can be prepared using a blender also. Its a very easy method of making idli.No need of adding any baking soda or anything.Just soak some urad dal and grind them into fluffy paste and mix well with soaked rava and some salt. tada! Idli ready for next day 🙂
Apply some ghee over hot idlis and serve with any kind of chutney. I served with coconut chutney,Tomato Onion chutney ,Sambhar and idli podi.
